Christo Stoitschkow

Christo Stoitschkow is born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, on 8th February in 1966. From 1982 to 1894 Christo played in Charmanli. At the age of 18 he began his professional career with CSKA Sofia. In 1990 he moved to Barcelona, there, in five years he was four times champion. Nowadays he is for the Catalans like a cult figure, that every child knows and admires.

1994 was his most successful year, because he made (together with the national team) the Bulgarians incredible happy with the fourth place at the World Cup in the USA.

Stoitschkow owns many Awards, but probably the most important are the Golden Boot in 1990 and Europas footballer of the 1994 year.

I would like to mention something funny about him also - when he speaks Bulgarian, not everyone understands, what he actually means. This fact doesn’t bother anyone and is even a reason to love him more! He is our Stoitschkow and with his name he has made Bulgaria famous in the whole World. Thank you for that, Christo!
